Graepel presents financial results for 2023: Solid performance in a challenging environment

Graepel, an internationally well-known manufacturer of sheet metal products, achieved a turnover of 143.9 million Euros in 2023, which corresponds to an increase of 3.6% compared to the previous year. The increase is mainly due to inflation. Earnings before taxes fell due to increased personnel expenses and the acquisition of a new subsidiary.

The acquisition of Solvaro GmbH at the end of 2023 strengthened the market position of Graepel as a globally renowned specialist for individual components and innovative metal products. In Europe, the family-owned company with over 130 years of tradition was able to significantly expand its market presence through the merger and acquire new customers. "We are satisfied with the development of sales in 2023 and will continue to work on growth in all core segments and the development of new sectors," says Carlo Graepel, who together with his brother Felix Graepel is CEO of Friedrich Graepel AG. He emphasizes the importance of the employees: "They are our top priority. We want to offer them secure jobs with exciting development opportunities."

Graepel is known for its high quality and innovation, which results in strong customer loyalty. "Our customers trust us and involve us as a strong partner in their brainstorming, planning and development, so that we are significantly involved in the product creation process," explains Carlo Graepel. The long-established company is also committed to sustainability and is continuously developing its business activities with a view to the economy, people and the environment. In 2023, for example, the company installed its own photovoltaic system. Graepel was able to increase its workforce to around 1,000 employees in 2023. At the end of the year, the Group employed 61 trainees.

Despite a difficult environment with geopolitical uncertainties and high energy prices, Graepel expects slight sales growth in 2024. "The economic situation is widely reflected in the areas we supply. However, it is unclear to what extent the economic policy uncertainties will continue in 2024 and affect sales," says Carlo Graepel. Overall, the machinery and plant engineering sector in Germany expects a decline in production in the first half of 2024. The sheet metal forming industry has already seen a significant drop in orders in the last quarter of 2023.
